BIOGRAPHY

Dhrupad – “Voyage of song, invocation of the voice”. By and through this music, one can find and explore one’s own voice. Dhrupad has its origins in ancient Indian musical traditions, of which I follow the Dagarvani style, having studied under Ustad H. Sayeeduddin Dagar. I wish to share this music, bringing soul, softness, honesty and passion. I'm also willing to teach, accompanying others on their path and exploration of the voice.

Having started my journey in music at a young age with the folk and jazz guitar, I have since explored wider pathways of music while meeting and learning with several masters of Indian and Middle Eastern music. My hands have also touched stringed instruments such as the saz, sarangi, setâr and tanpura. I'm continously exploring the dynamics, emotions and movements of the human voice. In this exploration of learning, I follow the traditional styles of music, but in my own expression all these inspirations merge together to form my creative sonoric universe.

For this gift, I sincerely thank all teachers on my path.

Dhrupad – “Voyage of song, invocation of the voice”. By and through this music, one can find and explore one’s own voice. Dhrupad has its origins in ancient Indian musical traditions, of which I follow the Dagarvani style, having studied under Ustad H. Sayeeduddin Dagar for about ten years. I attempt to share this music with others, bringing soul, softness, honesty and passion.

These travels, feelings and inspirations have caused me to meet wonderful people on the path of poetry as well, leading to my occasional writings.
